My work revolves around making a mockery of serious subjects and myself; I like to make light of my emotions and feelings, I have always got through tough times this way. I use the process as a noticeboard for my mind, painting imagery, phrases, words, and marks that I feel right at the time. I have started incorporating layers and holes in the form of burns or tears as I feel these work alongside adding whatever I want to and feels necessary, being less bothered about how things look and more how they naturally turn out is something I am trying to work towards; so that the work is more about the meaning rather than how it looks. I like to tackle the subject of social media and reality tv, and it’s influence on my life; I do this by incorporating text style language and phrases from reality tv that are relevant.
